Get your 10 and under children to the line up tent for their events and make sure your older children are behind blocks. (This is the parents’ responsibility, but everyone is busy volunteering so help one another out!)
Meets typically last until AT LEAST 9PM!
Where:
Home Meets: Our home side is the Wildwood pavilion and back gate. Our opponents set up on the snack shack side of the pool.
Away Meets: Will vary for each location, will be communicated via email.
Whys and “Do NOts”:
Do not stand behind the blocks during meets unless you are volunteering at the time. The swimmers, stroke and turn judges, and timers will all be stationed there.
Do not crowd Command Central. Command Central will be set up on the platform next to the diving boards. This area is reserved for coaches, officials, and other VIPs. The meet will be announced, and the current events will be displayed at this platform.
Do not enter the volleyball sandpit area during swim meets.
Do not enter the shallow end, diving well, or kiddie pool areas of the pool during swim meets. The pool is closed to all other swimming. These areas will not be guarded.
It is very tempting to approach the coaches to ask questions about why your swimmer got a DQ, what could your swimmer do better, or etc.. Please save these types of questions for before or after practices. Coaches need to focus on events and swimmers in the water during meet times.
Do not fret about DQs! DQs happen! Especially with “littles.” Especially during the first few meets. The coaches will discuss and work on these during practice.
Do not argue with meet officials and volunteers. Be respectful and kind!
Have fun, cheer for swimmers, and encourage team members!
